Do the simple calculation that any first year college chemistry student could. How much energy is produced when you make one ton of CO2 from coal or natural gas? Hoe much energy does it take to pressurize a gas stream containing this amount of CO2 to 2 bar to so that it can be bubbled through seawater? How much CO2 can be dissolved in sea water with out pH adjustment? With pH adjustment? How much sodium hydroxide does it take to adjust the pH to dissolve all the CO2 from question 1? How much material would be made and how much energy does it take to dry it?If you answer all these questions, you will find that each step takes more energy than produced when you make the CO2. Perhaps Calera has a 'silver bullet' (they didn't last year when I observed their technology), but there are too many laws of thermodynamics that need to be violated to make this thing work. If it seems too good to be true, it is and now we will be wasting $30M of my tax dollars to prove it when the money could be put to much better renewable research. And why? Because Khosla and his $$$ buys the political clout. Watch for the IPO, then watch for the fall.

This is a fraud.
