As a self proffessed Liberal, I feel conservative of human life, interior as well as exterior. Why should Democrats admit defeat before even the battle and make appeasments to the so called social conservatives. What do they conserve, who do they serve? I don't feel like making concessions to people that I feel are less christian to myself. The very defenitions of religion and humanity are at stake. It's too important of a stake in our lifes, and a investment in our conciousness. The Republikans hold too extreme and a Manichaen view of life, and are non-American to boot. They want to win a earth scorched war in which one side wins totally and the other side is vanquished as in a genocide. Good versus Evil, and they think that they are good. Maybe the Truth is somewhere in between. But Obama has been giving very little to the progressives, and yet the Republikans assail him as both a degenerate and a Socialist[why not?] and a Fascist. How convenient for them. Completely different historical realities paradoxically residing within the cerebellum of Obama. The Democrats need to fight back more agressively than ever before, and in a populist vein when necessary to help people here and now! The Republikans are simply lying about reality, and as they own Fox News and other Medias, their propaganda outnumbers the more moderate messages of other MSM. The MSM are already alert to the appearance of Liberal bias, so they must always show two opinions on everything. No matter how untrue. So the conservatives have hobbled the national media by making them less liberal, but themselves they are free to lie to the people as much as they want, so as to further the goals of their Elite. Free elections are the foundation of Democracy, and deliberate misinformation by the republicans is trying to be the Samsun pulling down the Philistine temple. We weant more democracy, not less.We want a vigorous government to check the power of Big business. Why is Capitalism more important than Democracy? Why is big money running our world when religion tells us of it's poverty? Republikans are being nothing but Obstructionists, they have nothing to say, they only want to destroy. The recent decision by the conservatives in the Supreme Court shows a contempt and an utter disregard for the role of Democracy in our government. Why should I bother to vote? The Republikans hope for that scenario, and want more depression and surrender and voter apathy from the democrats. So if it's a cultural war I'm ready to fight. What other choice do I have. The republikans don't want bipartisanship, they won't compromise. Then neither will I.

If we want de-polarization, and bi-partisanship because we value it as a principle, it doesn’t mean an abandonment of all our preconcieved values.
