Our interns and fellows are essentially magazine writers-in-tra ining, assisting Miller-McCune and Miller-McCune.com staff with development of articles and other content for the print magazine and Web site as they propose and write their own stories. As shocking as it may seem in the current journalism universe, Miller-McCune internships and fellowships are paid positions.
Fellowship candidates should be involved in graduate-level work that relates in some way to politics, policy or journalism; prospective interns should be working toward a bachelor's degree in such a subject area. Applicants should have an abiding interest in current affairs and the ability to make and take a joke, now and again. Miller-McCune.com is actively expanding its multimedia efforts; knowledge of Web-development software is a plus that applicants should be sure to mention.

To apply, e-mail a brilliant cover letter, a resume and links to or digital versions of no more than five (5) news or academic articles to John Mecklin, editor, at: TheEditor@miller-mccune.com. Please read the magazine and/or Web site before applying. And please, no phone calls. Please.

Miller-McCune magazine and Miller-McCune.com are published by the Miller-McCune Center for Research, Media and Public Policy, a Santa Barbara-based public benefit foundation. One of the center's major supporters is SAGE Publications, a leading international publisher of academic books and journals.

Miller-McCune, a 100,000-circulation national print magazine, focuses on significant research and researchers, explaining what they can offer in the way of practical options for dealing with pressing social problems. It is a consumer magazine rather than a scholarly journal, striving for the sophisticated analysis and engaging detail characteristic of the finest narrative journalism.
Miller-McCune.com, is devoted to breaking news stories about significant social problems; research that deals with such problems; and commentary on the potential costs, benefits and outcomes of policy proposals. It is also host to a growing number of reported public policy blogs, including the acclaimed Today in Mice.
