Mike Traphagen found journalism as a Santa Barbara City College student in 1993. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from San Jose State University, then embarked on a journalism career that included sports writing in a small Texas town, and copy editing for two newspapers and one national magazine before reaching Miller-McCune Center.
